GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Happy Independence Day and all other things patriotic!  Hope all ya’ll had a great holiday full of family, fun, fireworks and frankfurters!  This month is also a good time to reflect on the sacrifices, big and small, it took to breathe life into this wonderful country of ours, where all sorts of folks can come together and pursue life, free of oppression.  Each of us, every day, whether you realize it or not, continue to ensure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.  We salute every service person, every mother and father, every student, every worker, every advocate, every protector, every teacher, every voice-everyone who believes in truth, justice, and the COWBOY way!

Remember: it’s still hot.  It’s going to be hot for awhile.  These are words to live by!

BE SAFE   BE SMART IN THE HEAT    STAY HYDRATED

EVERYONE WORKS, EVERYONE PLAYS LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER

Over the summer, we will try to make your shooting experience as comfortable as possible. We will be cutting the length of the match down to five stages.  Expect them to be fast with limited resets and not as much movement.  You can still expect them to be FUN!

This month, for your shooting pleasure: STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER.  Hope to see you there!

BOOK DRIVE

Our own La Gata Loca says “HI” from somewhere in the Middle East.  She is doing well, and misses all her cowboy pards very much.  She would love to hear from you. You can e-mail her at laura@geekcentralinc.com.

La Gata Loca reports that her unit has a very, very small library.  They could put donations of paperback books and DVD’s to good use.  When they come back stateside next fall, the library would be used by their replacements, or to replenish other units.  If you have books cluttering up your closet, or DVD’s on your shelf collecting dust, contact Night Train Kate, who will arrange the freight.  Just a small way to help out our brothers and sisters in arms, until they are safely back in ours.

COWBOY CLASS & R/O CLASS

The monthly cowboy class is the first Saturday of the month.  This is a great opportunity to introduce someone to the sport, or to get a “refresher”.  If you are interested, or know someone who would like to try out cowboy action shooting, please call Turkey Creek Red at (321)728-7928 or Utah at (321)951-1223.

FROM THE PONY EXPRESS

Safety is always first and foremost.  Please remember Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club is a private range, and we have a lot of people shooting in areas you can’t always see.  Please do not handle your guns unnecessarily at your vehicle when transferring them to gun carts.  Be mindful of your muzzle direction.  Resist the urge to show off that new fancy rig until you are inside the action area in a designated safe area.  Observe the 10mph speed limit.  Please park in the open lot across from the registration area and NOT along the bullseye line.  Additional parking is available in the pistol practice area just south of Bay 1.  Parking inside the action area is limited to handicapped vehicles without trailers and Indian River Regulator Cowboy Council members.  Your support and consideration in these areas will make us better neighbors with out other shooting disciplines.

If you are a member, of PMRPC please refer to your monthly news letter regarding the new rules for use of the action area, or see Turkey Creek Red

Remember, at the Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club, all juniors shoot free of charge.  This is an excellent way to get more young people involved in our wonderful sport.  If you know someone who might be interested in cowboy action shooting, please encourage them to attend the cowboy class and come join the fun!

Got comments? Suggestions? Criticisms? Got an idea for a stage?  WE WANT YOUR INPUT!  This is YOUR shoot and we feel this truly is an interactive sport!  You can write us, call us at (321) 728-7928 or e-mail us at Ccoll28198@aol.com  – even if you want to remain a “Ghost Writer”.  We members of the press know how to protect our sources.  Get involved!
